If my summary wasn't evidence enough: I vote against Simons motion BUT
offer a counter motion:
In the interest of life and general happiness I propose that we:
a) require all future URIs to start off with the URI identifier plus
a colon in order to identify the purpose of the following URI.
b) Make the statement that IF a URI does not start off with any of the
identified URI wrappers that it MUST be a URL.
c) that ALL URIs be enclosed in angle brackets when in unstructured text.
This will also include the already existing UR*: wrapper on all non
URL identifiers.
BUT,
I personally still maintain and will argue the fact that adding
URL: to the URL spec will gain us a heck of a lot more than we will
loose by adding 5 or 6 lines of code.
(Simon,
I don't know if that followed Roberts Rules or not. Sorry! ;-)
