Complete agreement here. In that context, my note was only intended to
point out that even a small set of heuristics -- one-step CWD
decomposition-- could get one into fairly significant trouble.
And, worst case -- but clearly getting into Marshall's "other 10%" (a
topic on which I'm not sure I completely agree with him) -- that should
be
USER/PASS/TYPE/CWD/ ACCT/STRU/MODE [/ maybe SITE] /RETR
