sorry for a very brief notew, but things are in a frenzy over here.
Hope the crispness does not offend anyone.
Last week I talked to Tim B-L and Alan on how to deal with the URL
doc. I want it finished before Seattle, so we can concventrate on URN
etc. At most I would like to see no more then half an hour spend on
maybe some last few issues in Seattle before moving on.
Here's the process I suggest we follow to reach this goal:
What Who When ready
Summary of important issues in URL discussion
including improtant pro/con arguments
to serve as input for reviewers Chairs 5-mar-94
Requirements doc John Kunze 5-mar-94
submit WWW usage of URLs as informational RFC Tim B-L 11-mar-94
Edited URL doc referring to Requirements doc
and containing Houston decisions as new I-D Tim B-l 11-mar-94
Final discussion on remaining issues All 24-mar-94
Submission of URL as proposed standard Chairs 4-apr-94
Remember: A submission is reviewed by the IESG, and it is only going
to proposed. This means that changes can still be made (based on
implementation experience) when the standard is up for review in 9
months.
I hope people can live with this approach, if not please let me know.
