To briefly sumarize the discussion between Jared Rhine and myself, if Xanadu
uses the relative identifier mechanism I have proposed, then as I understand
the current URN scheme either URNs for Xanadu resources would have to be valid
only at the local system, or there would have to be multiple URNs for each
resource as addressed from each system. The only other alternative I can
see would be for the URN resolution software to be capable of applying the
Xanadu identifier normalisation algorithm outlined earlier.
