I read the current specs. It has a mechanism whereby you can specify a
username & passwd in the URL. Otherwise the client is going to do a
ftp using "USER anonymous". Many ftp servers would like to have your email
address as the password. Also in a organisational environment machines do
not host anonymous users but due to YP or NIS one can use their own username
and password to do ftp. So it would be a good idea to make the clients login
with their own username and passwd. This requires that some key words be
named for username and passwd similar to "localhost".

for eg:

user:passwd@ would get the userid and passwd from the system and use it.
