The IESG has received a request from the Uniform Resource Identifiers
Working Group to consider:
o "Uniform Resource Locators (URL)" <draft-ietf-uri-url-07.txt>
for the status of Proposed Standard. They have also asked the IESG
to consider recommending to the RFC Editor that:
o "Functional Requirements for Internet Resource Locators"
<draft-ietf-uri-irl-fun-req-01.txt>"
o "Requirements for Uniform Resource Names"
<draft-ietf-uri-urn-req-00.txt>
be published as Informational RFCs.
The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action. Please send any comments to the
iesg@cnri.reston.va.us or ietf@cnri.reston.va.us mailing lists by
26 September.
