Subject: GILS Demo for White House Server

I am putting together a demonstration of GILS that could be referenced on
the White House WWW server, now scheduled to be unveiled publicly on October
20. I would like to include a variety of GILS sources for the demonstration.

Please contact me ASAP if you have a working Internet server you'd like me
to include. For obvious reasons, I'm most intent on government sources
although there's no need to be exclusive. Servers should be freely
accessible via Z39.50 (I'll accept current WAIS as close enough, for now)
and should provide locator information after the fashion of a GILS locator
record. We wish to make minimal assumptions about the client software--I am
assuming vanilla Mosaic as the WWW browser and we are using the commercial
WAIS WWW-Z39.50 gateway at the USGS demo server for GILS.

You can try out what we've put up so far, IF you'll wear your hardhat while
visiting this construction site. The URL is
"http://info.er.usgs.gov/gils/index.html".
